About Us
I just purchased it in November and I have been cleaning it with a few updates. I like to run local errands with it. It was a life long dream to own a MG T series and at 69 I found one and bought it.
TCs Owned:
TC 8583 – XPAG 9351
- Color (Ext / Int): Black / Tan
- Build Date: 2 May 1949
- Original Engine: XPAG9351
- Known Reg Numbers: 75253 (NC) 729KJG (SC)
Reportedly first sold in South Africa, then relocated to London for a time before being brought to the states and sold in Pennsylvania where much of the restoration work was done over several years by a supposedly prominent "TC Club" person. Next it was sold to someone in South Dakota, then sold again to Bob Lane of Charleston, South Carolina, then to another owner in South Carolina who passed away before he ever drove it. The wife kept the car for a year before leaving a note on an MGB in a parking lot, looking for a buyer. The owner of the MGB was Robert Doudrick of Weaverville, North Carolina and he purchased the TC in 2021.
Doudrick wrote: "Best I can tell from some old photos included in documents file I was given was the car was originally burgundy. I can't discern the interior color from any of the pictures although it appears from the wear on the seats they may be original, while I doubt the top (hood) and side screens are. I have some sense the PA owner that did the restoration work may have been a prominent "TC club" person at the time."
Listed on Bring A Trailer in April 2025 by Robert Doudrick, no sale at $26,500. Sold in early 2026 to Glen Yarbrough of Johnstown, Colorado who wrote: "I know it participated in a run sponsored by the History Channel called The Great Race but I don't know the details. I was told it was restored 2 times, originally black then painted red, then back to black. I know it's been in the New England MG T register and the Southeastern MGT register and of course the South Africa Royal Auto Club and I guess for the Auto Association of New Coventry London.
