First TC imported into South Africa. Purchased in SA in the early 1970s by an American John Deere exec, Fred Gilchrist. Restored in SA by Fred and his son, Guy. The car came to the US when Fred retired from John Deere, which I think was in the late 70s. I purchased the car from Guy Gilchrist in late 2024, so the car had reportedly been in the same family for over 50 years.

Acquired by Guy Gilcrist of California in 1973. The car was sourced in South Africa, and was refurbished before it was brought to the US in the late 1970s. The car went to his son around 2014. Racing history. Ford Anglia steering box. Offered for sale on Bring A Trailer by user Crabguy (Gilcrist's son) of Redwood City, California on December 28, 2022. Bid to $23,000. Listed again September 2024, sold to Jeff Law of Ventura, California for $25,500.
