TC5190 is not a matching numbers MG TC that has primarily been in California and recently moved to Connecticut. The engine was replaced by Mike Goodman and is an XPAG. It underwent a high-standard restoration by Mike Goodman's Sports Car Service in Van Nuys, California. Under 20+ year ownership by previous owner Mike Shea, it was moved from California to Connecticut by Mr. Shea. Since arriving in Connecticut, it has been maintained by a respected marque specialist who once owned Abington Spares. In 2019, a mechanical inspection addressed a loose rear freeze plug, leading to engine removal, front motor mount replacement, and replacement of radiator hoses and gaskets. Other mechanical work included checking and replacing ignition components, including the 9-post regulator, adding a spin-on oil filter, and fitting a stainless-steel thermostat housing. The crank was reground and connecting rod and main bearings were replaced. New brakes, master cylinder and wheel cylinders and shoes have been fitted. The engine compartment is very tidy. The interior features clean gauges and correctly labeled dash knobs, with doors that close and latch easily. The dash is covered in red. Side curtains are present and clean. Rugs are new. Under dash panel is present. The exterior is noted as showing very nicely, with some touched-up chips mentioned, and good condition brightwork. M140 headlamps with cat eye lenses. Period-correct features like a correct Lucas driving light and horn are present, along with chrome 19" wire wheels and "nurf bar" bumpers and Alfin brake drums.. The car is described as tight with excellent road holding and steering with easy starting easily and strong pulling.

A California Car, now in Connecticut. I appear to be the 4th owner. Rolling restore performed by Mike Goodman's Sports Car Service. The engine was replaced with a Mike Goodman 1500cc conversion.
Possibly the car listed (by engine number) and owned by Mike Goodman of Studio City, California in 1964, believed owned until sometime in the 1990s. Of the car listed, mike wrote, "Acquired car as a victim of the Baldwin Hills Flood in 1963. Has new body." (1964TCMG) Fully restored during Mike's ownership. Mike worked with Al Moss at the original Moss Motors in Los Angeles before opening his own legendary M.G. repair and restoration shop in Van Nuys, California.
