Purchased (with father) in 1952 in Elgin, Illinois. Owned ever since. Richard was a member of TCMG back in the late 1960s. Repainted blue (from Sequoia Cream) in 1954. Installed Tompkin Steering and subsequently VW steering system. Repainted, not restored. Entry from Richard Fritz in 1964 IMGTCR states "Purchased in Sept. 1952 from Mr. Walter Gieske of Elgin, Ill. Who had purchased car new from S. H. Arnolt, Inc. of Chicago. Car has been to summits of Mt. Evans Pike's Peak in Colorado and Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. In storage since 1961." At that time Mr. Fritz was in Elgin, Illinois and the color was listed as Light Blue. Engine number was listed as XPAG 7280 but it is assumed that was a typo.
